The Journey Begins is a full Wind Ensemble piece. This was my last undergraduate composition at Colorado State University Pueblo, meant to expand my skills and portfolio writing for a large ensemble setting and various instrumentation. An adventurous-sounding work, which was a fitting piece to end one chapter of my life with the start of another. This was composed with the intent of having high schoolers in mind, as a song that was not just to be fun but also to include pedagogical ideals within their rehearsals and performances. During my undergraduate degree, I was lucky enough to get a first score reading session that was graciously and amazingly played by the Colorado State University Pueblo Wind Ensemble on May 6th, 2025, led under the direction of Dr. Brett Keating. This was first presented publicly as a score video and reading session video of the First Edition during my Senior Composition Recital on May 8th, 2025, led under the direction of Dr. David Volk.
